The Leopoldina Fortunati Emerging Scholar Award
The Leopoldina Fortunati Emerging Scholar Award supports promising research projects by early-career researchers within the ICA Mobile Communication Division. The award recognizes innovative research with strong potential.
Award:
One winner will be selected annually and will receive a $500 USD cash prize to support their proposed research project.
Eligibility:
The Awards Committee welcomes proposals from a diverse pool of emerging scholars, including advanced graduate students, postdoctoral researchers, and early-career (pre-tenure) faculty. Each person may submit only one proposal, whether individually or as part of a team.
Submission Requirements:
Each submission must include the following:

Project Summary (maximum three single-spaced pages) covering:

An overview of the study, emphasizing the relevance of the topic and its anticipated contribution to the field of mobile communication

A literature review situated within mobile communication, including research questions or hypotheses, theoretical framework, and proposed methods

A timeline of planned activities

A budget outlining how the $500 grant will be used to accomplish the project's goals

Curriculum Vitae (maximum two pages)

Recommendation Letter (maximum one page) from a supervisor or colleague in support of the applicant's project
