Our division is delighted to announce several exciting updates to our awards:
James E. Katz Award for Outstanding Empirical Research
We are proud to introduce the James E. Katz Award for Outstanding Empirical Research in Mobile Communication. Endowed by James E. Katz, this new award recognizes outstanding empirical books, journal articles, and book chapters published by ICA Mobile members during the preceding two calendar years. The recipient will receive a USD 1,000 prize and an official ICA plaque.
Rich Ling Mobile Communication Book Award
We are also excited to launch the Rich Ling Mobile Communication Book Award. This award recognizes outstanding books authored by ICA Mobile members and published during the preceding five calendar years. The recipient will receive a handcrafted wooden plaque created by Rich himself.
Leopoldina Fortunati Emerging Scholar Award
Finally, our Emerging Scholar Award has been renamed the Leopoldina Fortunati Emerging Scholar Award in recognition of Professor Leopoldina Fortunati's longstanding contributions to the field of mobile communication. This USD 500 research grant supports early-stage research projects led by pre-tenure early-career researchers who are members of the division.
We are very grateful to James E. Katz, Rich Ling, and Leopoldina Fortunati for their generosity and continued commitment to our community!
